“Humane” gets used loosely in this industry, so here's what it actually means when we do raccoon removal: no poison, families kept together, and animals given a real chance to survive after removal.

Why not poison?

Poison is inhumane, unpredictable, and often makes things worse — the animal dies inside a wall or attic, leaving you with a dead-animal smell and a costly removal. It also does nothing to close the entry point.

The humane process

• Inspect to find the raccoons and every way in
• Use live traps or hands-on removal, keeping mothers with their kits
• Relocate or release according to local wildlife rules
• Seal entry points and repair damage so no new animals move in

Mothers and kits

Most spring and summer attic raccoons are mothers with babies. The humane approach removes the kits by hand and reunites them with the mother outside whenever possible, rather than trapping the adult and leaving babies behind.
